Meditation and mindfulness are useful tools for people of any age. Research shows that practicing mindfulness can help children learn and improve self-awareness, emotional regulation, and focus. When practiced regularly, playful mindfulness can support healthy brain development and give kids practical tools for managing challenging feelings and for making better decisions.
These one-hour sessions introduce children to playful breathing exercises, visualizations, and other activities that teach basic tools of mindfulness. Activities may vary from month to month.
This program is for kids ages 8 to 12.

Susan Reifer has been facilitating Meditation classes at Whistler Public Library since January of 2018.
