Professor Kelly S. Bricker, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism at University of Utah, will join us to discuss her experiences as a member of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council and share her work developing universal standards for sustainable tourism practices. As a sociologist and geographer, Kelly synthesizes information from a broad array of intellectual disciplines into her research exploring and promoting a sustainable approach to recreation and the tourism economy. University of Utah is located at the edge of another great North American skiing destination and Kelly’s presentation will touch upon numerous case studies relevant to the Whistler environment before opening up the room to audience participation and inquiry!
