EXTERNAL: Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination: BC Rights in Focus
Join Resilience Sea to Sky in marking Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination with an insightful and action-focused discussion on human rights, racial discrimination and the challenges faced by diverse communities in the Sea to Sky region.
They are honored to welcome BC’s Human Rights Commissioner, Kasari Govender, who will deliver a keynote address on the recent Rights in Focus report examining systemic discrimination across British Columbia, shedding light on racial inequities, barriers to justice, and the steps needed to create a more inclusive society. Following the keynote, they will be facilitating a Q&A session with the Commissioner before focusing on discussions of how the themes of the Rights in Focus report align with the lived experiences of local community members across the Sea to Sky.
This discussion will highlight pressing concerns such as workplace discrimination, barriers to accessing services, and the realities faced by foreign workers and racialized individuals in our community.
This event is a space for learning, dialogue, and collaboration, bringing together community members, local leaders, employers, and advocates to foster a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
Light refreshments will be provided.
They invite you to be part of this important conversation—RSVP now to secure your spot!
