EXTERNAL: Supporting Today’s Teens – Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Coping Skills

Are you a caregiver or instructor of pre-teens or teens? Join Whistler Community Services Society for a FREE three-part series to help youth approach, process, and manage their emotions. Each week, we learn coping skills from three of the four Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) modules to better understand and support youth who are struggling with emotion regulation or other related issues.

Week 1 (April 23): Mindfulness – learning to be present and aware of thoughts and emotions.
Register for week 1

Week 2 (April 30): Distress Tolerance – developing skills to cope with difficult emotions and situations.
Register for week 2

Week 3 (May 7): Emotion Regulation – learning to understand and manage emotions effectively.
Register for week 3

Signing up for all three sessions is recommended, as skills are built on each other!

Facilitated by: Kelsey Schreiner (She/Her) MC, RCC, Youth & Young Adult Clinician, Whistler/Pemberton MHSU

For: Caregivers of teens/pre-teens – parents, caregivers, teachers, youth workers, grandparents, or others supporting teens in the community
