Explore Your Inner Universe Week 5: Eating Well (August 2 to August 8)

Food! We all need it, but did you know that it can have an impact on our mental as well as our physical health? This week we encourage you to explore different ways of cooking and eating to help you get the nutrients you need to feel your best. Check out our resources list for cooking inspiration and instruction, local and national resources for nutrition information and support, information on how to access our local food bank if you need, and much more! 



  • Join our new Cookbook Club! The first meeting is on Wednesday, August 5 at 7 p.m., and we'll be discussing Plant-Based Cookbooks. Email jbruce@whistlerlibrary.ca to sign up or to let us know that you're interested in future sessions.

  • Make your meal into a artistic masterpiece and share a photo with us! Explore basic food plating techniques (like you would see in a fancy restaurant) or create some fun food art to encourage little ones to eat their fruits and veggies.

  • The “raisin” challenge: choose a piece of food you eat with your hands and eat it as slowly and mindfully as possible. Examples of foods to try: grapes, popcorn, etc. Describe in detail the taste, texture, temperature and amount of time it took you to savour your food. Try to do as much as possible with your eyes closed!

  • Try a new recipe! Make something you’ve never made before and tell us all about it. Check out our lists below for cookbook inspiration.
