The pandemic changed everything. And we know that families with school-aged children and teens faced unexpected challenges that no other group experienced.
On May 13, a panel of local experts will share what they know about pandemic-related pressures on families living, working and schooling in Whistler.
Later, participants will move to facilitated breakout room discussions for the opportunity to make connections and engage in conversations that have the potential change the outlook for families with school-aged children and teens.
Our panel was chosen to help inform participants on key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): #2 Zero Hunger, #3 Good Health & Wellbeing, #4 Quality Education, #8 Decent Work & Economic Growth, #10 Reduced Inequities. The panel of local experts includes:
- Sue Oakey, parent, teacher and librarian at Spring Creek Elementary;
- Jackie Dickinson, parent, Executive Director at Whistler Community Services;
- Diana Chan, business owner, employer, Chair of Whistler Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors;
- Izume Inoue, parent, Settlement Worker at Whistler Welcome Centre.
